What should I bring to my appointment?
Our experienced and professional team will ensure that your appointments are as beneficial as possible. To assist you we have prepared the following checklist for your first appointment. Please make sure that you bring the following:

Referral letter from your GP
All x-rays, scans, nerve studies and other test results
A list of your medications
Any questions you may have relating to your condition
Your Medicare card & Veterans’ Affairs card (if applicable)
Your private health fund details (if applicable)
Workcover patients must bring all contact details for your insurer & your claim number. If you do not have a claim number, you are responsible for paying for the consultation at the time of your appointment.

Are there risks involved with having surgery?
All surgical procedures have risks. While your surgeon makes every attempt to minimise risks, complications can occur. Our surgeons will always outline possible side effects or complications of a surgical procedure. It is important that you have enough information about possible complications to fully weigh up the benefits and risks of surgery.

How long will I be in hospital if I have surgery?
Recovery takes time and depends on the type of surgical procedure that you have had. Some patients will be able to go home on the same day that the surgery is performed while others will need to stay in hospital overnight. For patients that are having large or more complicated procedures a 7 to 10 day stay may be necessary.

Billing Info

Consultations
Our reception staff are able to provide costs for initial and follow up consultations at the time of making your appointment.

We ask that all consultation fees be paid on the day of your appointment.

Our clinic offers discounts for Health Care Card holders.

Fees can be paid by cash, cheque or credit card (excluding American Express or Diners.)

If you have a current referal from your local doctor or another specialist you are able to claim a rebate through Medicare.

Surgery
Unfortunately, until you have had a consultation with one of our surgeons we are unable to provide you with a quote for any surgical procedures.

At no time will our reception staff be able to determine what operation you will require and are therefore unable to provide you with a quote prior to any consultation.

Once the decision has been made to proceed with surgery, we are then able to provide you with a full itemised quote. This will outline your surgeons fees, based on the proposed surgery, the amount rebatable through Medicare and your private health fund, and the out of pocket expense you will incur for surgery.

We will also provide you with the Anaesthetists name and phone number and the relevant hospital contact details. You are then able to make enquiries with regards to their fees. This will enable you to be fully prepared for the expenses that will be incurred for the proposed surgery.

Our clinic does not participate in "no gap" arrangements with any of the health funds.
